Before moving to the north shore of Oahu at the age of seventeen, Suzy grew up a wave-starved surfer on the gulf coast of Florida surrounded by a family of musicians. Influenced by her father’s passion for jazz and blues, Suzy has managed to create a sound comprised of laidback surfing acoustic elements, as well as soulful blues, folk, and rock. At the age of nineteen, Suzy moved to San Diego in search of an audience. She began playing local open mics, booked shows, as well as began studying film/music at the University level. During her studies, Suzy lived, performed, and surfed competitively abroad in Australia’s gold coast & Fiji, which inspired a lot of the writing leading up to her debut album that was released in October of 2010. Suzy is now graduated with a B.A. from the University of San Diego and is working full time as an artist in the Southern California. This past year alone, Suzy has co-founded the indie production company “Shameless Productions,” which created the music video for her song “BANG BANG,” as well as starred in/produced/soundtracked the short film “Leaving LA,” performed at The Florida Music Festival where she opened for Amberlin & Rusted Root in front of 21,000 fans, and she has been showcased as a new artist on San Diego’s FM94.9 & KPRI-FM102.1 & LATalkRadio. Still an active member of the surfing industry, Suzy was the only musical act at SIMA’s 2010 Liquid Nation Ball 7, which helped raise over $250,000 for surf-related charities and which honored Jason Mraz as the “Humanitarian of the Year.” Currently, Suzy is touring to promote her music, acting in film, and writing for both film and music.
