Album Notes

Longtime musician, Ruben Dobbs (Swampcandy) has been writing original music for two decades. He has played and/or fronted several successful bands over the years. In 2007 he released his first album as part of his solo project under the name Swampcandy. The first album "The Dirty Suite" gave listeners a treat of the raw sounds of delta blues.
For this new project, he switched gears. The new album "She call to me" is a genre defying collection of 18 songs that spans the eclectic musical tastes of Swampcandy's vast pallet. As in his previous work, many of his songs bring to mind the sounds of the Mississippi Delta, while other selections on this album stray into abstract territories. In this second album project, he has opened his vault of lyrics that he has written over the years as well as new material and put together a mix of styles which gives his listeners a fresh experience of his diverse talent. The highlights of this album include performances by many of his talented musician friends, old and new. The listener would find themselves hard pressed to not find something on this album that speaks to them...
