ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Since their early years singing together in a DC church choir, Maureen Andary and Sara Curtin have developed a unique musical relationship. Both primary songwriters for The Sweater Set, Maureen and Sara invite listeners into their joyful friendship as their songs play out like musically elaborate gossip about – what else? – the perils of courtship, lust, and heartbreak. Soprano harmonies soar over multi-instrumental arrangements of ukulele, guitar, flute, accordion, glockenspiel, banjo, percussion, kazoo, and the occasional mouth trumpet solo.

Together since October 2009, The Sweater Set has been nominated for 7 Washington Area Music Awards and performed at prestigious venues including Bryant Park in New York City, The Washington Folk Festival, Sidney Harman Hall, the Black Cat main stage, and now Strathmore. The Sweater Set has also been awarded two grants by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
