"Days Roll By" is Bobby’s new (fifth) release, and has been causing quite a stir. As of this posting, Bobby/"Days Roll By" will be featured in the upcoming November/December issue of Berkshire Living Magazine ('07). This is a studio album in which the band and all of Bobby’s vocals were captured live (ie at the same time). There were a few guest artist who were recorded as overdubs, but for the most part, this album is captured performances, and has all the nuances of people playing music together in tact. The unanimous word on the street is, it's his best work to date.
Bobby is a sixth-generation musician. He began performing at age 7 in his father’s band, and left at 17 to pursue his widening musical interests. As a performer, Bobby has shared the bill with some of the top country and folk artists, including Vince Gill, Bill Staines, Bill Morrissey, Deana Carter, Bryan White, Arlo Guthrie, The Neilds, and Jess Klein. As a sought-after lead guitarist he has shared the stage with George Jones, Asleep at the Wheel, Willie Nelson, The Bellamy Brothers, Waylon Jennings, and many others.
Bobby has written songs that have aired on the hit television series Touched By An Angel, Walker Texas Ranger, Soul Food, and Judging Amy, among others. Another of his songs was featured in the Danny Devito/Bette Midler movie Drowning Mona. He has performed at the legendary Bluebird Cafe and other venues in Nashville, and his guitar and vocal work have been featured on recordings by Arlo Guthrie, Sarah Lee Guthrie, Bernice Lewis and a host of other album projects. Bobby is a former staff writer with HoriPro Entertainment Group in Nashville. Today he also works as a producer and recording engineer at Derek Studios, where he has shared his knowledge and skills with many artists of varying styles, ranging from folk to Americana to world music.
"Days Roll By" was recorded in the “old school” method. Inspired by the musicality of the live album, he took the band into the studio to record live performances of his new material. No click tracks were used, and there were no “fix ups” on the band or his vocals. The few guest artists and Bobby’s solos were recorded as overdubs.
An engaging storyteller, Bobby is at home on the stage, whether performing solo, with his eclectic trio, or with the full band. Echoing the response of radio programmers in the States and abroad, Andrea Stolle of Radio Teutoburger Wald in Germany summed it up, “Great songs, impressive lyrics, and a fantastic singer!”
