Who is Swell Party? Four singers and a pianist, all who share the same love for close harmonies and music from the 30's and 40's. Whether the style is jazz, swing or big band, Swell Party has perfected a spectacular vocal blend of its own, a sound so authentic it's been referred to as a "velvet-smooth walk down memory lane." So many wonderful Christmas songs were born during this era that it only made sense to bring them to you the Swell Party way. Karen Jordan, the group's founder, director and soprano started singing professionally after receiving a degree in Voice from Ithaca College. Susan Lawrence, alto, majored in vocal music at the University of South Florida. Dana Fligg, tenor,has performed as soloist with many choral ensembles and is said to sound "just like Bing." James Riel, baritone, has experience with classical as well as swing and jazz music. Jeffrey Bunker has been playing the piano since he was five and received a B.S. in Music Education from University of New Hampshire. As an ensemble, Swell Party brings together unbelievable talent and knowledge of the big band/swing/jazz style. Close harmonies and extraordinary blend are becoming their trade mark.
