ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mississippi On My Mind tells the story of my leaving home to persue my life as a musician. The song tells it all. There are many great musicians playing on these tracks. Some of them in the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame. The recordings were made in Jackson, Mississippi, Fayetteville, North Carolina and Memphis, Tennessee. The songs cut in Memphis were done at Phillips Studio and engineered by the one and only Roland Janes. Playing on the sessions were Alton Lott (guitar), Wray Hixson (Bass), and Don Pittman (piano), and me on drums. All this music is written and played from a style of Mississippi Music and Mississippi Musicians. We grew up playing this style of country, rock, blues, and gospel. You can hear all the styles in all these songs. And you won't hear it anywhere else. This is the real thing, truly Mississippi Music.
