Album Notes

Long time veterans of the Southern Ohio music scene mandolin player Michael Hitchcock and bass player Larry Gault joined together with drummer Steve Benson and guitarist Randy Kubilius five years ago to develop their own take on the music that has always been their favorite - the jazz of the 30's and 40's, especially the tunes of the Benny Goodman Sextet and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France. Performing this music on mandolin and guitar, with the bass and drums an integral part of the ensemble gives them a unique sound that differs from others who approach the same music in more traditional ways.
