notes

This guy loves country music! Stan is an award-winning country songwriter and performer. This debut CD, "Mexico" was released in 2004 to critical acclaim. He's sometimes characterized as "a little bit Lovett, a little bit Buffet" - but he's also a whole lotta Stan.

Stan's songs deal with the stuff real life's made of. Serious Songs like "Concrete Daisy" and the award-winning "Both Sides of the Coin" contrast with the lighter side of "It Ain't a Party", and "Bud". If you see Stan perform live, you're sure to laugh, cry, feel and think.

  • Magical !

Stan Swiniarski has been described as a cross "between Lyle Lovett and Jimmy Buffet." Yet, this New England native has a fresh sound that is uniquely his own. Stan is an award-winning composer who pens lyrics that are heartfelt and address real life issues. His music is country based spiked with rock and pop. Swiniarski's thirteen-track CD features a variety of tempos, moods and genres. Stan's songs range from teary ballads to foot tapping tunes. The CD is well produced and the instrumentation is first class. 'It Ain't A Party' is the animated opener with a funky Little Feat-type groove. Its up-tempo beat combines with animated keys and whimsical lyrics to get you on your feet. 'I'm Home' is a slower more reflective composition utilizing a traditional, twangy guitar layered over Stan's robust vocals. 'They Called Me An American' unfolds as a conversation about the blessings of living in the United States. The visual storytelling flows on a mid-tempo beat and country grooves. Mexico is a magical, musical journey and Stan Swiniarski shines on this debut release!

First of all, Stan's a great friend. Second of all, he knows all the Berkeley chords. Third of all, he's a great lyricist. Add them all together and you come up with "Mexico", a stellar collection of material that showcases the aforementioned talents and so much more. Stan's debut is a breath of fresh air and there truly is something for everyone on "Mexico". Don't miss it!

The songs on this album range from really upbeat, to very touching, to really funny. The lyrics really hit home and the arrangements are great. I have these songs popping up in my mind all the time. I really recommend this album. Just listen to the preview of "Leanin' to Love", "They Call Me an American" and "Bud".
