not bad for a bunch of cats
author: Dr. Hamburger
Hollywood's pop-rock starlets The Switchblade Kittens return to the radar with a new mix of power-pop and new wave kitty chaos. With the entire record (yes all 13 tracks) focused on J.K. Rowling's kiddie (as in kids) fiction, "The Weird Sisters" chronicles the Harry Potter book series. In a departure from previous albums and EP's this record shows a greater emphasis on the synthesizer sounds of the "bassola" which makes for a brighter and catchier mix. Even songs like "Ode to Harry
Potter" which have appeared in earlier years via the Internet receive a new re-working and make a definite change for the better. If you're a self-proclaimed "potter head" then this is a must have. If you hate the books then ignore the cover art and just enjoy the good music.... All in all, not bad for a bunch of cats.
