Album Notes

Swivek is the music of West Hollywood celebrity stalker Bradley Jacobson and his gang of derelict teenagers. Flexible Records is delighted to present his latest magnus opus Darkness + Light. This record is abuzz with hypertensive energy and is among the most accessible of Swivek records, showcasing mad synth pop and classic rock in the same caffeinated rush.

Orange Television produce three tracks including the dance pop of “Need”, the indie grooves of “Intensity Is Recommended” and the moody “Pissed”, providing some bonkers electro to counter Jacobson's newfound fetish for fast and catchy hard guitar pop.

Darkness + Light includes the punk kiss-off of "You're Not The One", a classic put down song that squashes you under it’s shoe like the dirty roach you are, the ranting synthetic rush of "Pissed", the Josie Cotton approved dance cut "Auto 54", and the perfectly twisted organ bop of "Radio" – a pop punk anthem that gyrates itself into a hot froth of ironic fun.

So drink some red wine, turn it up and stomp around.

If David Byrne when he was cool had a baby with Beck, that baby would grow up to be Swivek's darkness + light. Why go to psychotherapy when I could listen to Pissed and feel good?

CD has great assortment of songs - some pure punk and some more mainstream. You won't be dissappointed. Swivek is a great up and coming band - some day we'll say "we knew them when....."
