NODE 01 embodies the culmination of both members' diverse musical background, actualizing the group's debut full-length endeavor. Featuring over seventy minutes of unrelenting, genre-breaching compositions, NODE 01 has the eclectic stylings of a Bjork album while maintaining an aggressive edge, reminiscent of a Prodigy meets Linkin Park hybrid. From Mescalero's original sound design work to the sitar solos of j Xi3 on "Lucid Dreaming" and "The Cosmic Dance", the common thread that runs through each track is the uncompromising production and impeccable melodic sense that adorn the lavish electro landscape.
"Leave no sample untweaked and no instrument unfiltered," jokes Mescalero. Fittingly enough, it is this very principle that is one of the cornerstones of their originality. This is certainly not a new methodology, however synapse raises the bar on the precision employed in effects processing, slicing and dicing recorded parts without reverence, like geneticists in their lab spawning a mutant, cybernetic strain of something twisted and yet equally glorious. "Virus X" is the apogee of the tweakage curve displaying an onslaught of vocal effects that will no doubt alter conventional perception of the way effects processing is treated and placed in the mix. NODE 01 truly propels the listener into a space of musical innovation.
synapse represents a new permutation in the genre of live Electronica. Wielding a darker iteration of break-influenced grooves, they coin their music to be Bio-Ethnic Electrocore. synapse induces a womb-like, opiated state, before dropping the guillotine with their edge sound. Throbbing synth grooves swirl alongside a dizzying array of beats as pulsating bass riffs wax and wane amidst harmonies of machine and man. Having a repertoire that extends deep and esoteric, their musicality is firmly rooted in the organic. The fact that both members are multi-instrumentalists and producers in their own right, forges a relationship not unlike that of a binary star system; exuding a complimentarity which is unparalleled.
Growing up in the urban jungles of Los Angeles, Mescalero, founder of Fiercebeats (LAX) managed to reconcile his Native American heritage with the emerging BPM sub-culture; molding a style vivid and enigmatic, filled with distorted beauty and rhythmic genius.
Born on the island of Singapore, in the South China Seas, j Xi3 had amassed the cultural and musical diversity of his multi-ethnic environment. Being bilingual, his lyrics transcend the language barrier, infusing verses of Chinese into a vocal style entirely unique.

These guys are exploding with talent. Its nice to hear something hard and positive that does'nt sound cornball. These guys used to go by the name Static and have a excellent ep under this name. If you can find it, pick it up, you wont be disappointed.

This CD is what i was looking for, but without knowing it until NOW. I don't think I can put Synapse- Node 01 into a category without saying that its a hodge podge of everything I like. Breaks, Rock/ some acoustic, Hip-hop/ techno/ World. When it all comes down to its got some Real GROUNDBREAKING Sound.
