notes
Synesthesia's first release is an instrumental world fusion recording featuring the acoustic guitar artistry of Nikbakht and Martone.
Synesthesia's compositions incorporate elements of Jazz, Latin, Asian, Classical and Rock to create a unique fusion of world music.
Their self-titled release also futures special guest artists from around the globe including the Indian violin master B.K.Chandrashekhar, Persian Keyboardist /arranger Farnoosh Behzad and Santoor player Hussein Farjami.
Synesthesia's principal members are Navid Nikbakht and David Martone who blend various influences to create a unique and individual blend of world fusion.
Nikbakht and Martone each bring their own individuality to this group, which also includes producer/percussionist Christoph Bracher. Using elements of Latin, Indian, Jazz, Persian and Rock, Synesthesia's self-titled album has already found many fans worldwide.
Iranian born Navid Nikbakht defines his music as "world fusion". Concentrating on acoustic instruments, Navid's varied musical background is apparent in all that he does. Elements of Latin, Jazz, Gypsy, Indian as well as his native Persian music can be heard through out this project.
Canada's David Martone has been heavily influenced by Classical and Progressive Rock music. He is a regular on the Vancouver music scene with his band MARTONE and has released 3 self-produced albums. He also is a regular contributor to various guitar publications. In the past he has performed with such notable guitar heroes as Steve Morse

I like this album……. a lot!
author: SamThis album is unique in the way it mixes different musical influences. These guys make a point of not focusing on any one type of music and that is great. More like two travellers going through different musical landscapes. In some settings they fit perfectly, in others they adapt to their environment, but most importantly in all the tracks, they have something to say. Overall Synesthesia is a great first album. Only question is, where is the fololow up?
Unique and excellent.
author: TonyA great first record. Nikbakht and Martone cover all that they like about music and they cover it well. From smooth Jazz/fusion to Latin to Asia to Rock. These guys deserve international success and recognition.
