Album Notes

Gateways is not quite a parody of the new age movement of music but more a homage to the elements Jim, Nick and I did like about new age music and it's meditative, thoughtful and rich sonic qualities. We also threw in a few scary, existential sections from time to time and some clearly mechanized movements just so there is no chance of you falling asleep while listening to it in the car. Oh, and then there is a strange little story written in the booklet for those who miss lyrics. This is timeless music that can sit well in the background at parties or make for a interesting sound track to a movie with the sound turned off.

Nice to listen to on a quiet rainy day

There is actually some really pretty music here and few subtle scary numbers as well. Jimmy Dexter is a highly skilled guitarist in the vein of the late Michael Hedges. He is featured on most of these pieces. Lots of musical variety for this disc to be considered new age but the boys have created a hard instrumental album to pigeon hold. Whatever you call it, it's nice to listen to on a quiet rainy day. Dig the art work and the bizarre story.
