This CD was originally entitled Thermoil Chapter 2. It was revised in 2007.
I was feeling sick through out most of these recordings. I threw up about once every two weeks back then but that did not stop me from writing and singing.
The song "Feelin' Sick, Feelin' Old" captures my physical state most accurately. The sneezing was real and so was the snot. The cover was shot by Eric Weaver on a trip I took with him and Nigey Lennon to Staten Island. It was a pretty grim day as you can see by the look on my face. The version of Carole King's song "Chains" was just a quick test I was doing before a session. I heard this song in an odd time signature and I believe Paul Barkan was in the studio at the time and he found my idea to be quite absurd. He was right. Nonetheless it came out pretty good and is probably one of the strangest covers of that song. Also, the John Lennon piece "Cold Turkey" was recorded live in my mom's house with just two overdubs ( a soft bass and keyboard part) . That's just me and Anthony Pomes gathered around one microphone having fun (considering the serious nature of the work). This CD also features probably the earliest idea I had for a song. "I'm Sure You Care" dates back to 1978. And yes, those out of tune strings were done on purpose.
