Biography
Swiss-born Tabea Anderfuhren has been captivating audiences with her unique stage presence and her intimate blend of bluegrass, country, folk and Irish music. Her clear and natural voice is a rare instrument. It is the perfect vehicle for her original melodies.
Tabea works as a painter on building sites and plays as often as possible as a solo act or with different formations. She plays guitar and mountain dulcimer. Her ultimate dream is to make a living playing the music she loves.
Tabea‘s love for music extends back to childhood. At Age 13, she formed her first band «Mace». Folk music was her first love.
Inspiration from artists such as Joan Baez helped her to discover and develop her own ability to describe her feelings and experiences through music. Her musical interests soon turned towards country, bluegrass and Irish music.
Tabea met several American, English and Irish singer/songwriters and was greatly inspired by their music.
At 16, she wrote a song called «Miss You», which also led to her first music video produced by the Swiss National TV. Tabea has appeared on radio and television across Europe and in the USA.
In January of 2008, Tabea recorded her first project, «Who Can Ever Tell», in Nashville TN. She produced it together with multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Aaron Till whom she has been performing many concerts with.
The album has been receiving airplay on radio stations across Europe, including Swiss National Radio DRS.
Several concerts in Australia are currently in the works for Tabea in January 2009.
