Tabitha Monet is enjoying the delicious taste of success with the release of her debut album, "Adventures of Me and Me." Words carry power, and this folk rock artist's music and words leave you wanting to listen to more, and listen more closely, again.

"Musically speaking, I'm mostly self-taught. I used to be embarrassed by that, believing it automatically made my music inferior to highly technical players and musicians who ooze oceans of theory. But artists who haven't had the aid of formal training have so many possibilities in their work, because they aren't contained inside an arbitrary set of rules. Technique is important, but for me, content and style are more important. I want people to be able to recognize that it's my voice and my song after only hearing a couple of bars of a song for the first time. I want them to hear that I am in love with the human voice. And I want them to want more of me."

What makes it great? It's not the overproduced sound of the female pop-rock trend. It goes the opposite route, and wasn't written with the purpose of being a pop-art product. The smart lyrics will appeal to the adult contemporary listener. Some album tracks are a vocal accompanied by acoustic guitar, which allow the song to speak for itself.
