Album Notes

Originally a ska musician in The Malchiks, from Vancouver BC, Tachikoma-kun was drawn to electronic music by Philip Glass' rhythmic complexity and d'n'b's sub basses Once he made the switch to digital, he started out like all the other IDM producers: sampling old video game hardware, worshipping analog technology, cutting snippets of dialogue from 1970's robot anime. But unlike some of them other producers, Tachikoma is in this game for the long run. He has sworn an oath to buy one new synth and record one new album each year till he dies.
When he's not producing his own solo tracks, Tachikoma's running the world's first combination blog and record label (www.blipsandifs.blogspot.com) or laying down soundtracks for award-winning Canadian filmmaker Jason Da Silva (www.infacefilms.com). Tachikoma is also currently collaborating with German IDM street gang Signalform (feat. members of Dron / self oscillate) on a full-length remix disc.

Fantastic

I heard a couple tracks on Soma FM and became addicted. At times listening to Gentle, Amoral Robots Music is like reading someone's diary without their permission. But instead of words the diary is filled bleeps, bloops, and clicks.

It's like a party in my mouth, and nobody is invited.

Tachikoma-Kun is giving me a headache. I like to awake in the morning, draw a bath, and listen to the Gentle Robot deliver audio shampoo to my eyes. Do you know how hard it is to love something with all your heart only to see it being taken away from you by total strangers? Don't buy this CD. I want it to remain an undiscovered gem, that makes me happy, but nobody else. Like a wife. Don't sleep with my wife. Don't be a home wrecker. Also, Tachikoma is a selfish lover.

Bad music makes good!

I found this CD on the bus a month or two ago. I don't normaly listen to bad music, but this was a very special brand of bad music. It made my mouth disable itself, and my wounds began to heal. I instantly fell in love with it. I thank the great maker above everytime I listen to it. I can't even imagine what my life would have turned out like had I not stolen this CD.
