notes
Add up the random visits from woodland creatures, books and late night television, and the result might be Tubeman - a sense of belonging. But while Flo sings about events of the woods, the sea and the air - you might find yourself landing squarely on the dance floor ... just watch out for the tangled roots that are sure to grab you.
The band TagYerit lurks on a multi-tiered website where "Music Makers" (Tubeman - Track 1) received over a thousand downloads before Tubeman was released! Meanwhile the song Embarrassed (Track 13) is a huge hit at the Whole World Toilet Paper Museum. In between there are eleven other tracks that explore bewilderment, loss and wonder. What more could you ask for!

Review Excerpt hEARd - http://www.ozemail.com.au/~hmag
... their latest album Tubeman continues their tradition of cool, slightly quirky pop.
There are some great moments here, ... "Embarassed (All True)", ... an excellent vocal performance as well as some very unusual pacing in the lead guitar.
Other highlights include "Dreading", the fabulous "One Crow Morning", opener "Music Makers", ... plus "Outlaw Radio Guy". ... a great bunch of tunes & it's now up to those of you looking for interesting new releases to get yourselves into this one.

These are excerpts from a review of Tubeman in Through Different Eyes, Midwestern Skies and Sonitus. Also the Prog-Reviews mailing list Rating: * * * * a mix between B52s, David Byrne, King Crimson, Talking Heads and Frank Zappa ... Flo's magnificent vocals that are very special, like a mix between Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders), Joni Mitchell and Suzanne Vega. ... the guitar playing is outstanding and world-class. This is one of the most exciting CD's I've heard this year and it's got a great production. Check this unique band out!

If great songs and ideas are just floating around in the air waiting for people to grab them up, then TagYerIt must have pulled its stuff straight from Mars itself! Some super great stuff going on here. I know a lot of this gets repeated, but that's because it's all TRUE: fantastic vocals and cool vocal harmonies, fun and intelligent interplay between all guitars, a quirky style that denies comparison, and SUPERB lyrics. TagYerIt's the full package, and I love it! (And they're good people to boot!) xChad My Toy Armageddon

reviewed Union-News The band has just released its sophomore effort "Tubeman" and the single (Music Makers) has already earned them over 1,000 downloads since June. For those familiar with the engaging sounds of TagYerit, the band's "Tubeman" CD will not disappoint. On a sonic level, the music is alluring and Flo Newman's vocals are a treasure.

Duke Aaron - reviewer V-Mag "... 13 wonderful tracks ... a group of stylistically original songs, backed with excellent musicianship, interesting and fun themes, and a great voice ... The production was lush and superb ... one of the best produced recordings from the valley I have ever heard. ... Check them out ..."

We received Tubeman about a week ago here at the station and I've got to say I'm very impressed. More importantly though our listeners have really responded well, very well. So far we've aired "Music Makers", "Outlaw Radio Guy", "Sci-Fi...", and the title track from the Tubeman CD. You guys definitely bring a unique style and I know that's why I personally, and I'm sure why the listeners really have enjoyed your music. We've also been getting a lot of feedback from the website. Toilet paper collection, very cool. Thanks for giving us here at Radio Addiction a new addition to our playlist. Best of luck, DJ "Mad Skillz" Marc Ferrara Radio Addication

I want to shake your hands through cyber space for your new album -- which is great! But especially for your excellent anthem to indie music "Music Makers" -- god I wish every indie musician could hear that song. You are writing to all of us there -- It rocks. Karen Michalson / Point of Ares PS. Your twisted fairy tale/fantasy stuff is a delight, too. Especially "Wendy Bird" and "SciFi with Space Leprechaun appearance"

This is an excerpt of Ben Ohmart's review at http://www.atnzone.com " ...The beautiful one here is 'Outlaw Radio Guy'. I can't explain. You have to listen to it. Flo's unadorned vocals spring out from the backandforeground. I can't Stand it, it's so pretty. ... refreshing ... Music can go anywhere; and more importantly, it can TAKE you anywhere. Get this cd and you'll see what I mean. "

excerpted from The Valley Advocate (western MA alternative weekly) DOWN THE TUBES: TagYerit is bakagain with the followup to 1995's critically acclaimed Heavy Construction. Dubbed Tubeman, the 13-song CD offering is awash in haunting harmonies, textures and syncopations right from the word go. [This message has been edited by tagyerit (edited July 05, 1999).]

Tagyerit, Extraordinary! Bravo! Brilliant, melodic, witty, and very, very funny; and simply a musical gem. WOW! I am blown away!
