Tainted By Trolls is an electronic rock music project by Shane Otis of Berkeley California. Tainted By Trolls sounds like a full fledged rock band performed by a single person live. That's because with the use of loops, triggers and previously integrated performances, Shane has built songs of his own creation and found a way to translate them into live performance. Tainted By Trolls isn't merely a DJ, it's a live performance of original compositions, parts of which are sequenced by computer and parts of which are performed on real instruments, sometimes including live singing. Having been longtime fan of edgy and classic rock and psychedelic electronic music, Shane has combined these influences to present Tainted By Trolls, a man/machine combo performing original music.

TBT could at times be suggested to be influenced by Jeff Beck, Adrian Belew, Ritchie Blackmore, Porcupine Tree, NIN, Ozric Tentacles, King Crimson combined with elements of Hallucinogen, Shpongle, Radiohead, Aphex Twin.
