Taken Under is a hardcore band based out of middle tennessee, combining the sounds of hardcore and metal with lyrics that deal with the struggles and trials of everyday life. Determined to stay away from the watered down metalcore & mallcore scenes that have plauged hardcore over the past few years, Taken Under is more concerned with what the music is about than their looks. Taken Under previously released two demos but it wasnt until they recorded their latest release "Silence Your Enemies" that they have captured the sound that truely represent their brutal style of music. After only hearing a few tracks California's High Fidelity records quickly added Taken Under to their roster. Taken Under has shared the stage with many of todays top touring hardcore and metal acts and plans to continue to tour in support of their latest release. Taken Under stands for staying true to your beliefs and never giving in. SOUNDS LIKE Sworn Enemy Terror Figure Four Hatebreed Full Blown Chaos Cast Aside

this album sounds like a younger version of Hatebreed or First Blood
author: Black Angel
Tennessee is known for alot of things but one of them isn't Hardcore that's for damned sure, but it's not because the bands aren't there, they are. The first of the bunch to break thru is a young band called Taken Under who've shared the stage with Full Blown Chaos, Living Sacrifice, Six Feet Under and a whole lot more. The band has just signed with High Fidelity Records to release their debut EP, Silence Your Enemies.
I can't say I'm a big fan of Taken Under after hearing Silence Your Enemies. Don't get me wrong, the album is good as is the band, I'm just not a fan of today's Hardcore music. Despite the band's best effort to be original and nonconforming, this album sounds like a younger version of Hatebreed or First Blood. Some will fall all over themselves for it and that's a positive for the band. While people like me who enjoy leadbreaks and polished recordings won't enjoy it so much. The stand out tracks to check out are "Try To Kill This" and "The Odds Just Got Even". Give the band a look and get a taste of the ferociousness Tennessee is breeding.

Silence Your Enemies is among the top 3 CDs i am currently listenig too, along with Hatebreed's Supremacy and Acacia Strain's Dead Walk. If you are looking for something thats hardcore and brutal as fuck, this is the CD to get. I read some other reviews on this album and took a chance, and i am glad i did. real, brutal, heavy hardcore - great cd
author: codyxxx
This is one of the best CDs i've heard in a long time. From start to finish, it's nothing but solid, heavy hardcore that you can't get tired of listening to. Plenty of fast parts, with brutal breakdowns. I can put this CD in and listen to it over and over. Taken Under definitely have their own sound, but don't stray from what true hardcore is. If you like Hatebreed, Terror, Sworn Enemy, Buried Alive, Figure Four, then you'll love this CD. True hardcore for true hardcore kids.
