Regarded as one of the most exciting young jazz pianists around, Tal Cohen is a fine talent who brings to the stage a refreshing approach to jazz piano, not just as a pianist but also as a refined composer.
Tal and his family migrated to Australia when he was sixteen and he brought with him his Jewish cultural heritage of ancient eastern folk songs and western classical music. Tal recently completed his Masters of Music at the Western Australian Conservatorium of Music and is acquiring a reputation as a truly creative artist with his own synthesis of jazz in all it genres.
having Recently returned from a successful national tour with the Jamie Oehlers Quartet- which featured world renowned drummer Ari Hoenig- Tal has spent the last 18 months writing material for his long anticipated album “Yellow Sticker”. the Album is comprised of a selection of jazz standards arrangements along with Tal’s quintessential compositions. the record also features acclaimed Australian musicians- Jamie Oehlers on tenor saxophone, Chris Tarr on drums and Pete Jeavons on bass.
