Tu Esencia Tamara's CD was a labor of love a tribute to her mother who passed in 1999.These original songs are reminiscent of the songs that played in her parents apartment in New York City. To quote an article by Mr. Max Salazar in Latin Beat Magazine November 2002."On August 17th 2002 I heard the unreleased CD "Tu Esencia" whose overwhelming melodies and orchestrations ensure its success. Responsible for this high quality album are Tamara Torres and Composer Lou Perez. On the same CD, The same track "Y Ahora Que" is also recorded in english "Without You". Both versions are capable of creating a romantic ambience, a pleasant reminder of the fiftie's lush sound. Capable of inducing a moment of euphoria." So relax and enjoy! La musica sensual.
Tamara grew up in Manhattan reared by Puerto Rican and Cuban Parents. She is an eclectic preformer who studied classical voice and Jazz and musical theater. She has toured abroad. Has worked on several House Music Projects writing lyrics for songs like "Do you feel it""Tropical Fever"and "To The Groove of Love." Tamara has sung in Rock Operas and in clubs in the New York aria. She also does jingles. As an actress she has theater. television and film credits.
The music is by Cuban composer Lou Perez whose song "De Todo Un Poco" was featured in the movie Dirty Dancing he also wrote Bon Bon y Chocolate. The artistic Producer and arranger is Grammy winner Oscar Hernandez who was musical Director for the broadway show "Capeman" by Paul Simon.The wonderfully gifted musicians are Piano,Keyboards- Oscar Hernandez Bass- Ruben Rodriquez Congas,Percussion- Bobby Allende Trumpet,Fugle Horn- Pete Nater Guitar- Edgardo Miranda Drums- Robby Ameen Smooth Vocals by Tamara Torres Siempre Amor y Romance Alway Love and Romance will live on.
