Beginning with whispered Maori proverbs from her native homeland of Aotearoa, New Zealand, to rocking airports, lush strings quartet arrangements reflecting Tuscany landscapes, old gypsy melodies, jazz, a magic flute, harp and gaelic prayers, funk, scratching, a Prague horn section, improvisations for the Black Madonna and soundscapes from El Camino de Santiago; Tamar poetically tells the story of her brave and extraordinary journey from 2005 to 2010, through the deep landscape of Europe. The album features 40 outstanding musicians and artists from 12 different countries around the globe, who have all contributed exquisite performances and artwork which make “The Heart Notes”. The Production took place in some of Europe's finest recording, mixing and mastering studios: Sono Records in Praha, Czech Republic ("Once", The Film Soundtrack also recorded at Sono); Blind Records in Barcelona, Spain (home to Spainish & Catalan Recording Artists); Red Barn Studios in Dundee, Scotland; Top Cat Music Ltd (based on the premises of Real World) in Box, England and The Exchange Mastering Studios in London, England.

From Peter K Elkus - Grand Maestro of Voice & The Writer of "The Telling of our Truths" - L’Association Art Musique Européenne:
“Tamar's most important attributes are those of her intelligence, her drive, her integrity and her humanity, all of which she expresses with passion through her music. I feel that she definitely has the potential of being “star material” and of being an important ambassador of New Zealand Culture to the world.”
From Graham Reid - Widely Acclaimed Writer & Reviewer of Elsewhere - Music, Travels & Arts.

"This, (The Heart Notes) her debut, is the result of her internationalism... And this is a concept album about searching, love, faith (she walked El Camino de Santiago) and spirituality which has reference points in Maoritanga... and the sacred feminine... she mixes spoken word with songs, ambient with orchestration. It is quite a literal and metaphoric journey she takes you on.
As a vocalist McLeod Sinclair is strong and flexible... hypnotic... romantic and effectively mysterious. This wide-ranging and far reaching album is at its best when it is in the world of art music (For Roma, Always, Into the Darkness) or just letting itself go (the danceable Thankful). Tamar McLeod Sinclair has created an impressive and ambitious debut on which she generously allows her fellow musicians to take considerable space of their own, and they do her proud. That is rare, on both counts."

Tamar is one of the few solo female artists from New Zealand who travels around the world to learn from other cultures and to share her music on an international level. During six years in Europe, Tamar has trained and sung with highly acclaimed international artists, teachers, schools, theatre companies and festivals including: Lisa Sokolov (famous New York jazz singer and professor in The Experimental Wing of the University of New York) and the Stimmen Festival in Germany; Peter K Elkus (past student of the Julliard School of Music in New York, honoured by Maria Callas and grand maestro of opera, voice and music) and L`Association Art Musique Européenne in France; Ida Kelarova (famous Czech gypsy singer) and the International School for Human Voice in Czech Republic; Kal`i Cerchen (Black Star) of the Gypsy Theatre Company Romathan in Slovakia; Enrique Vargas and the Teatro De Los Sentidos (Theatre of The Senses) in Spain; Ralf Peters of the Roy Hart Theatre in Germany and Bentzion (B.Z.) Goldberg with the Tuscany Project in Italy.
In all these intensive experiences, Tamar has invested herself greatly to learn about the freedom and expression of the human voice. She has taught master classes in Switzerland and Spain and currently works internationally, to give concerts as a professional singer, musician and composer. Tamar is also the artistic director of the cultural production company TaMartin Productions.
Tamar composed, arranged, performed and co-produced her international debut album The Heart Notes for CD & Vinyl with co-producer Martin Kašpar, recording with over 40 artists in some of the music industry's finest studios: Sono Records in Praha, Czech Republic; Blind Records in Barcelona, Spain and The Exchange Mastering Studios in London. The Heart Notes was released to the light in St Tropéz, France in September 2010.
In resumé, Tamar’s music and songs are the sensitive union of her roots, her musical education and her personal life experience, which is deep and wide for her years. She is currently based in Barcelona, Spain.
