notes
"Listening to Tanja Solnik sing is like being held. Her voice is so extraordinarily lovely, her songs so tender that many listeners will be moved to tears. This is a recording for everyone from babies to grandparents." -- Moment Magazine
"There are many children's recordings on the market that the little ones like, but, alas, not many that we mommies and daddies can tolerate without wanting to throw something at the CD or tape player. In time to save the stereo equipment comes Tanja Solnik's Lullabies and Love Songs which is a pleasant collection of Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino tunes that youngsters and parents can enjoy together. Lullabies offers an opportunity for children to learn about the richness of Jewish culture while being entertained.
Solnik's voice is mollifying and the instrumental accompaniment is just right for children - not too complex or overpowering. For their parents, the arrangements are not too simplistic or mono-tonal. Like Solnik's first collection, From Generation to Generation: A Legacy of Lullabies, Lullabies and Love Songs belongs in the music collection of every Jewish family." --Cleveland Jewish News

"A few months ago my brother gave me a baby gift for my soon-to-be-born son: two of your lullaby CD's, A Legacy of Lullabies and Lullabies & Love Songs. We love them! As we wait these last few weeks, I have been playing them a lot in hopes that he will remember them when he listens from outside the womb. Your songs and voice are so soothing. We are so thankful to have discovered your music." --Kristin Frank, Nashville, TN

Lullabies and Love Songs
author: Paula GolladayDream away little ones. It does not matter your age in years, it matters the age of your heart, memory, and joy. By Grandmother sang songs to me, some in Russian, others in Yiddish. I can't recall the words, I can hear her voice, may she rest in peace. This CD is going back in time, and going forward for new generations. Mazel Tov Tanja

This is just the CD I was looking for as a gift to my new granddaughter, Bella. These songs are the ones my own parents used to sing to me and in Tanja's lilting, sweet voice they sound better then ever. Thanks for this compilation of heritage tunes.
Lyrics, please!
author: SueTanja's singing is beautiful. I wish, however, that she had included complete lyrics and translations, as she did on "A Legacy of Lullabies." They are available on line, but it would be nice to have them packaged with the CD.

This is the second Lullabies and Lovesongs CD that I have ordered for new babies coming into the world. I would order it again as a gift. It is delightful.

one of my favorites
author: AnnaA friend told me about this cd years ago -- it's wonderfully calming and relaxing, and the melodies stick with you... It's a unique combination of songs that sound familiar and new, and I am love giving it as a gift for others to enjoy!
Her voice is enchanting!
author: Gina MarieMy son and I sing these together! Both of her cd's are fabulous. This is so soothing and calms him down when he's cranky. I recommend it to all parents...
Beautiful voice sings beautiful songs.
author: Mary KlevitskySuch a beautiful voice. I enjoy Ladino songs (I'm already familiar with the Yiddish ones). I listen to them again and again and cannot get enough of them. I would have loved to have Tanja's other CDs with Jewish songs beside lullabies.
