Album Notes

Tantara is a Norwegian Thrash Metal band, mainly from Vestfold. The age of the band members is 17 and 18 years. The band saw its light in September ‘09, when drummer Stian, and rhythm guitarist Fredrik decided to bring their ‘talent show’ project to a new level: Make it officially a band. The two band mates recruited Per as their lead guitarist, which they’ve played with before.

Tantaras influences iconsist mostly of old school thrash metal bands, like Heathen, Metallica, Vio-Lence, Dark Angel, Megadeth, Slayer, Nuclear Assault, Paradox,

Total Thrashifing Awesome!!

The Debate: Great intro, very errie, dark sounding with the tri-tone clean guitar then crashes into heavy distorted guitars with the clean intro distorted. Then a total mind grenade of thrashifing porportions with the verses and choruses. A bridge with rain and thunder effects... over a beautiful, melodic clean section, with a very melodic solo to go with it. Then back to the thrash riffs and the next two solos will blow your face to the wall behind you. Props to Per. Great drumming and agressive vocals to top it off. My favourite on the EP. Human Mutation: Ball crushing, head-spliting song. A great mix between Old Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. Very heavy, thrashin' riffs with great vocals with awesome, agressive power put through by Fredrik. A super heavy interlude riff then more ass-kickin solos by Per. Superb drumming by Stian and riff work from Per and Fredrik. Defiantly an amazing song to blow your brains out with. The Killing of Mother Earth: (Brand new song): Melodic and deep acoustic intro, with an accompying solo to go with it. Reminds me of Fade to Black, but possibly better. Then total riffage that brings back the old school thrash with a vengea...nce. Was totally blown away with the awesome riffs and vocals in this song, You can hear some iron maiden influences in here, both in the riffs and the solos. And the harmony solos are a total eargasm to any listener. Then there's a very interesting breakdown with clean guitars and spoken word vocals. Probably one of the best new songs to come from any new band I know. If you ever imagined Iron Maiden doing a thrash song, this would be it. Very impressive musicianship in this song. Total overview: This EP is what I think all thrash and heavy metal listeners have been waiting for. 3 suberb songs that will either melt your brain or leave your jaw on the floor. Tantara, you have done a fucking amazing job with this EP and I will be a long time fan. Thrash til' Death!!! \m/ See More
