Blending styles and genres with a fluidity rarely seen the Outland continues to thrill audiences throughout the Southwest. The Outland has performed with many comedy troupes over the years including "The Monks Night Out", "Big Bad and Beautiful", they are also the house band for the "Big Stinking International Sketch and Improv Comedy Festival". As the "Big Stinkin' Band" they have worked with Anna Gastyre and Chris Kattan(SNL), Phil Lamar(Mad TV), and Ernie Morales for Comedy central.
The TAO are proud to be the organizers for this and last years TourBaby Austin. This years events at the Hideout Theatre and Cabaret promise to be very exciting. Look for it on the Austin Music Network.
The TAO is
Ethan Ford - Bass, Lead vocals, dobro, 12 string and classical guitars
The Outlands founder and primary composer, Ethan's background lies in classical music and performance arts. Ethan has worked with theatre, dance, and film troupes along with his constant addiction to music. Ethan writes regularly for www.Dmusic.com the oldest independent musician community on the web.
Dr. Lynn Gallager - Keyboards, vocals, bass, chip design
Dr. William Lynn Gallager held dual majors through school as both a computer science specialist and musical composition. During this time he managed to set aside the resources to help form the Outland and has been here ever since. Highly educated, and subtley dangerous the doctor adds a polish and flair to the Outlands work that would not be possible without him.
Doke Ford - Harmonica, percussion, vocals, steel drum
Father of Ethan and one of the founding members of the Outland, Doke brings a style to the Outland that's unmistakably bluesy yet screams of the big band horns. A highly active Austin musician Doke performs regularly with the Leghounds and a rotating list of Austin Blues greats.
Michele Gaston - Vocals, percussion, reptile identification
Beautiful soprano vocals and an understanding of the wilds of central Texas that is unparalled. A fabulous performer and a great person to hike the Hill Country with. Michele is also active as a painter and shows her work regularly as the mastermind behind the "Collective Action" multi media events at the Hideout Theatre.
Sister Christy Horton - Vocals, percussion, royal presence
The Outlands tenor powerhouse, beautiful and intelligent, Christy is the dangerous one.
