Album Notes

Dynamic r&b/soul/pop artist taragirl has been wowing audiences with her incredible voice and captivating stage performance since relocating to Philly from NYC in 2004. With two indie albums (The 26th Power and The City: Soul Suite) under her belt, press clippings citing her as the "continuation of the Philly soul sound" (GO Magazine), and the chops to back it up, taragirl has quickly made a name for herself in the City of Brotherly Love. She’s had the privilege of sharing the stage with artists like Chaka Khan, Amy Winehouse, Chrisette Michele, Leela James and The Brand New Heavies amongst others, and played to many a sold-out crowd. Having just released a debut music video for her single “The City,” she is preparing to release new music in 2011 and continue writing and performing as much as possible. taragirl describes her music: where soul and girl power unite!

I remember when I first met Taragirl at Unity Day in Philly, she was selling her first album out of a back pack. I took it home and was blown away.......And she continues to sooth my ears with "The City". Can't wait for more !

This is a must have set for anyone who is a fan of taragirl and her amazing voice... these are some of the best selections and really showcase her talent with the catchy songs and mix of soul/hip-hop. Really upbeat and enjoyable. Fav cuts are Why Can'tcha and Blue Holiday (awesome vocals!).
