Album Notes

This album has been a long time coming. After writing my first song approximately 3 years ago, I decided that I was not a songwriter. But one thing led to another and before I knew what was happening, words and melodies flooded my mind. Most of these songs were written about people who have inspired me in one aspect or another. My children, the young women I worked with, My sister who had a stillborn baby, a brother who now raises 3 children alone, and a sister who is lonely for her husband who passed away from cancer. Alot of inspiration came from my brother- in-law who passed away and every song reminds me of him in one way or another. " A Good Friend Is Hard To Find " was written for our good friend and neighbor- Cal Hjorth, who is a jewel in our lives. He is a true friend. It has been great working with Daniel Thompson who is my partner in this project. I like to think of it as I created the spirit of these songs and he created the body of these songs. His talents in music are inspiring also. These songs are emotions that I feel everyday. It is my hope that those who listen to them will be inspired to be better people. I think it's safe to say that we are all "Praying For A Better Day". Tari Van Tassell
