From 12 Tribes Sound production wizard Alon Cohen (Matisyahu, Y-Love and Forgiveness) comes Ta’Shma.
“Come Listen” features an “A-List” of guest performances ranging from Hasidic/Reggae star Matisyahu to world class musician Andy Statman. Two up-coming Jewish rappers
make their debut as well, Y-Love and E-Shy, soon to be household names in the Hip Hop Community!
Ta’Shma is Chuna Silverman and Menachem Shapiro. The group blends Hip-Hop beats and traditional Jewish Melodies to make a sound that’s fresh and all their own.
The tracks range from head-nodding Hip-Hop anthems to soulful jams that feature a wide range of instruments, including guitar, trumpet, clarinet and viola.
Some call it Hasidic Hip-Hop, but actually it is something far more unique than a derivative genre. Chuna and Menachem are not attempting to be something they aren’t.

AWESOME tunes! The only Hip-Hop I'll let my kids listen to....
author: Yolanda Rogers
This CD has so much to offer I don't even know where to begin. Okay, although this is not generally my genre of music (although, I am a hugh fan of Matisyahu) I wanted to find some music that speaks to my children in modern terms. My kids are agaes 8, 9, and 11. They love to dance and sing along to Hip-Hop music, but I'm always switching the stations and telling them that the words are not appropriate for them. I was searching for the sounds that they like without the bad influence and stumbled upon this CD. I (music cranked up in the car, all by myself) have been listening to it ever since. My kids love it and have asked for more CD's from this band. I'll gladly comply! My thanks to these young men whom are living wholesome lives and keeping their faith while speaking their words (and those from the Torah) to their generation. I'm their new biggest fan. Mozel Tov!
