ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tavares, hearing that name conjures up the names of hits songs like, "Heaven Must be Missing an Angel", "Penney For Your Thoughts", & "More than a Woman", & "It Only Takes a Minute", & "Check it out" and "She's Gone", just to name a few.

This Grammy Award winning group of brothers, have definitely made their mark on this industry. Now, they embark on a new journey that will take them to uncharted waters. One of these brothers, namely Feliciano "Butch" Tavares, for the first time will go as a writer, and producer for his family. What you are going to hear, they hope. will bring you closer to them not only as artists, but as a family of brothers who have seen all sides of life, and now get their chance to express their views through their music.

This CD is something that Butch likes to call a Tavares sampler of tasty track tidbits.
The first song Heaven 24/7 is the first single from this CD, written by Butch for his wife Gracie who was the inspiration and also co-writer. Shouldn't surprise you when you bite into it because it continues their long time tradition of love ballads that their family is so well known for.
But now, we get to the next tasty morsel, which is entitled "I Owe". they get to stretch out with a young Rapper-Artist Jaye Smooth, kicking a strong groove track that is hard to ignore.
Moving right along, B.T. also brings some international flavor from a female Artist-Writer by the name of Susan Couch via Jamaica, who adds her own flavor to the mix along with the brothers in the song entitled "Lady", that Butch's son Jordan believes will be one of the favorites from this CD mix.
Continuing on with another spice, by way of Trinidad, is another female Artist-Writer by the name of Debbie Sargent. She teams up with Butch to bring you a groove ballad Entitled, "Wind & Rain", that will stir your emotions.
To finish this sampler, Butch again teams up with Jaye Smooth, and family member, Lionel Wood, in a song with strong lyrical content called "Late-Late Show". Together, they take the family to new heights of expression. Here again, surprisingly, showcasing his talents and lyrical ability as a Rapper, believe it or not.

We would like to thank "God" for blessing our family and giving us the strength and health to continue. We also want to thank our loyal fans stateside and all around the world for the many years of dedication.

Well there you have it, the Tavares sampler, check it out. The main course is yet to come, humorously entitled "Old Dawg-New Tricks". Co-produced by Chay Alexander Wright from Look-A-Like Productions.

So kick back and enjoy. See ya.

Great to hear Tavares are back, but just with E.P.!!
Good songs, but I hope a complete CD will follow.

Love the songs and the vocals. Smooth harmonies, little rap, interesting and not disappointing! My intro to the Tavares dynasty!

Tavares Out of the box
To those of you who are making comments on the new Tavares album: This is NOT the "Tavares" This is one of theTavares. This album not not represent the group as a whole, in my opinion. This is very misleading!! I've followed the Tavares over the years and know them all. I'm not taking away anything from Butch, but this is NOT the Tavares of my generation. The "Tavares" would NEVER sing or rap about a "Ghetto Prince" Sorry, but this CD does not represent the group that I know and love. Sorry, Butch.

A welcome return
I bought this EP for Wind And Rain as it really caught my ear. I have always loved Tavares and the same thread of their classic work can be heard in this song and Heaven 24/7 as well as You're My Lady. In fact Heaven 24/7, if released in 1985-86, would have been a smash hit I am sure. I hope it does well for them. I hope that Butch and the gang do more stuff in future - but please...no more rap! Well recommended for the above mentioned slow jams.
