Dubwest Records is proud to announce the release of The Tazmanian Devils first recording in twenty four years entitled “TAZ NUVOUX”. Produced by TAZ bassist Duane Van Dieman. The Devils again have crafted their remarkable blend of west coast reggae, rock, blues and gospel to create some of their best work.
The band built a strong following during the late 70’s and early 80’s as a great live band while releasing two albums in 1980 and 1981 on Warner Brothers Records and a 4 song EP in 1982 from a live performance recorded at Keystone Berkeley which was released by Dublab Records now Dubwest.
Four of the original five members are still together in a group started in 1976. Lead vocals and rhythm guitar Dennis Hogan, lead guitar Dave Carlson, vocal and bass guitar Duane Van Dieman, drums and percussion Barry Lowenthal plus new vocal and keyboardist Parabar Martin Weber.
They also received a Bammy (San Francisco Bay Area Music Awards) for being voted the San Francisco Bay Area’s “Best Club Band” in 1981.
Release date is scheduled for July 25, 2006. The CD will be available online at CDBABY.COM and at your favorite Record Stores. The CD is dedicated to reggae great Desmond Dekker who recently passed away on May 25th, 2006.

This is a very uplifting CD and is a great return for the Tazmainian Devils. As a long-time fan, all these songs feel like a natural progression from their earlier studio albums. Just listen to the bonus live EP tracks and you can see the connection. So, if you like reggae music influenced by an uplifting California vibe, rock, and blues, then you need to check out this album.
