Thom Brennan started creating his soundscapes and rhythmic journeys in the early 1980's, releasing his debut album "Mountains" in 1987.
Inspired by landscapes of the American southwest and Pacific Northwest, his self-produced albums have defined a unique and organic style of sound painting...a colorful and private world of harmonic tapestries.
In addition to a series of solo productions, collaborations with soundworld composer Steve Roach appeared on the CD "Western Spaces", and later the Projekt Records compilation "Amplexus".
Recordings have been released on Rubicon Records (Canada), Phonogram (France), Amplexus / Arya (Italy), Projekt, Fortuna, Space For Music, AtmoWorks, and his own RainGarden Music.

Subsonic delight

This CD has surpassed my expectations. With a good set of speakers, Thom's music transcends the normal frequency range of most recordings I have ever heard. The deep eternal notes produced in this recording, sound like they are emminating from some hidden intelligence in a far off galaxy. Great music to paint to, as well as hard core meditation practises. Can't wait to explore more of Thom's recordings. :)

Super Natural Quality Ambient!!!

I 've got over 400 ambient-soundscape cd 's, purchased after a (legal!) download and after being classified as outstanding. Mr. Brennan 's 'Mist' ,along with a few others, is one of those discs that, in a very nice & subtile way, blew my head of from the very first listen.This is for sure consciousnes-expanding music made by a higher consciousnes and for a selected audience. Thom, you are my God, man!!!!

Evocative

This is a wonderfully evocative soundscape, misty and wet, but not literally so because the sound is fully electronic or heavily processed. In the dense layers of sound there is subtle harmony used but no conventional melodies or rhythms are present. Masterfully composed from start to finish. I find that like all of the best recordings this CD reveals more with each listen.
