Album Notes

WHO IS…

The Bay State Love Machine

Seven young men who work hard at what they love. Young men who play to kill any doubt…music is connection. Music is consciousness exploding. The BSLM is currently in its third year and is maturing into an amalgam of rock, folk, jazz, and groove, with a smear of jam to top it off. Our influences are as wide open as our tastes: classic rock, funk, modern jazz, hard rock, electronica, anything we deem important. We seek to rejuvenate our audience through solid musicianship, a balanced state-of-the-art sound, and always a few surprises. On an off night, our fans are still grinning and shaking down. And on a good night, the show looks like a religious revival. Listen for yourself and be energized.

Band members were originally students at Boston University and Berklee College of Music and attracted one another in their freshman and sophomore years while they basked in the wonderful music that passed through Boston -- Soulive, Miracle Orchestra, Bjork, Groove Collective, Bob Moses, The Slip, Bela Fleck, Parliament, Karl Denson, and on and on.

Years later, they continue to blend their wide palette of influences into a new unclassifiable sound.
