To discover new music nowadays, songs that really take you in and amaze, is as certain as, lets say, getting hit by an airplane. Then along come Trampled by Turtles and crush into you like a flock of jetfighters. Imagine standing on a hill, the vast landscape enfolding in front of you, a dark-blue sky, a soft breeze of cool air on your face - sad, proud, invincible. That's how it feels like listening to their music. The sheer power of TBTs musical skills is overwhelming, the songs take you on a melancholic journey never to forget. Past, present and future becomes one in a whirling dervish of mandolins, banjos and guitars. And finally one can not only see the brilliant light that transcends the old country but will be part of it - rising above a grand and beautiful scenery, leaving no trace of doubt and heading straight for the stratosphere.

In September on a visit to Colorado Springs my best buddy since third grade (48 years ago) turned me on to this music. I now have 3 of their cd's and am looking to buy the 4th. I hope they will come and play the Red Dragon Listening Room in Baton Rouge, LA.
