Album Notes

The Day of the Beast started in 2005 with KC (guitar), Eric (guitar), and our original drummer Aaron. Steve (vocals) was next to join up, and then after having a few short-time bass players, we were lucky enough to recruit Justin Shaw after his departure from Arsis. Shortly after recording the cd, Aaron left the band and was replaced with our current drummer, Jeremy. We've been fortunate to establish a line-up of guys who work together well and just want to play aggressive metal.

If you like your speed/thrash metal a little blacker than most, look no further. This VA outfit specializes in unrelenting, blunt-force metal that strives to be both technically adept and unapologetically brutal, and the collection of songs they've put together will barely leave you room to breathe. A quick glance at the cover art and the song titles will give you a broad idea of what you're in for, but it may not prepare you for the rate at which these guys barrel through these tracks. With machine-gun drumming and guitar riffs that are confrontational in the best possible way, the intensity never falters, peaking with the powerful closer, "Upon the Throne," a maniacally fast track with a fantastically unexpected ending. Prepare yourself.
