Album Notes

Jazz singer and trombonist extraordinaire, Jack Teagarden started performing in the 1920s in the Southwest and then in New York. In 1933 he signed with the Paul Whiteman orchestra; later, he formed his own big band before joining Louis Armstrong's All-Stars. He died in January, 1964: in 1963 he had appeared at the Monterey Jazz Festival).
