Team28 was established when two New York City natives got together to make a production company in 2004. The original members were Buck50 and Faim Superstar, another up and coming producer. Together they created a unique sound incorporating samples and doing renditions of other tracks. Together, they also compose a CD, the first of its kind coming out of Midtown Manhattan entitled Payin Dues. This album was used for promotion only. It was a CD that contained 12 instrumentals and 3 singles written and sung by the group with the help of RB, another local talent. Over 5,000 copies of the CD was created by the group and given out hand to hand around the city. Posters of the cover where posted around the city as well. In the process of making their first album, another youngster in Midtown, known as Extrawdinare, picked up some pointers and ran with it. In 2005, Buck50 released a solo project entitled, True Storie, which with the help of Extrawdinare and Faim, was a small hit. With 2,000 copies sold hand to hand, Extrawdinare, Buck50 and Faim came together to make 90% of the album, production wise. The buzz came back that the beats were crazy and numerous people asked how they could be purchased. This made Buck50 go back to his production roots, joining back up with Extrawdinare, to make the present mixtape we see now. City On Fire is a mixtape containing 28 of the duos instrumentals. Together, they combined to make a brand new sound filled with horns and strings, which bring a live orchestra feel to their music. They also incorporate snippets of samples to bring their tracks to life. The duo bring a sound to the streets that track for track, any true lyricist can say their words to.
