"Sometimes it's kinda hard to take the guys in Team Facelift serious. I mean when a guy that goes by the name "Fat Jew" dresses (or un-dresses) the way he does you know you aren't going to have a truly serious rap song coming out of the speakers, but, life needs people like Team Facelift to put everything in perspective and make you realize that you gotta have fun. you gotta laugh. and you gotta rock out with you cock out. Machine, Fat Jew and Alden Pact (aka Karim Fonda, Karim Shallah, etc...) really have taken hip hop to the next level here. It really defies explanation and demands ones undivided attention while attempting to pick up all the jokes, punch lines and inuendo that is rife in these tracks.
Head on over to youtube to see the video for "Sexual Perversions".. It will literally change your world... any one that speaks the line "If we're face to face then you're facin the wrong way / spit on her ass with a mouth full of bombay" and then procedes to do it in a music video deserves props."
"Blessed be the hip-hop student who takes his music travails seriously, for it is he who will uncover the absolute truths surrounding us -- that aren't truly in plain view. Example: rappers are not always what they say they are. Furthermore, rappers aren't always what they believe they are either so it can be a thorny issue to prod one about what he thinks he is, and how that might compare to what he actually is.
I'm getting high-minded here, but the brotherhood of rapkind is replete with contradictions. I listen to Dipset and sport white shorties on the arm. Team Facelift is the New York rap group that understands how entertaining these clashes can be and their upcoming album Mixed Emotions is the nod to that."
