Album Notes

This recording, presented here in its entirety, is from a guest recital I performed at the University of North Texas on September 17th, 2002. Very little has been done to this recording, mostly sound enhancement and removing applause. Coughs, chair squeaks and everything else remain.

Ted Cox is Principal Tubist with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, a position he has held since 1992. Ted Cox is also a Certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga teacher with one of the world’s master yoga teachers, Baron Baptiste. Mr. Cox, along with his wife Martha, own and operate their own yoga studio, Spirit House Yoga. Mr. Cox has also served on the faculty of the University of Oklahoma School of Music from 1993 to 2003. During his tenure at the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Cox served six years as both Director and artist/faculty of the International Tuba-Euphonium Workshop. Other performing credits include positions with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and Brass Quintet, as well as the Evansville (Indiana) Philharmonic. In addition to his experience as a performer, Mr. Cox has also served as a faculty member at Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma City University, Jackson State University and Millsaps College. Great Program, Great Playing
author: Jeff Baker

I love the program! There's so much great music on this album and most of it isn't even for tuba. Ted is able to cover the entire gamut from Baroque to Jazz and he doesn't miss a beat. This album should be in everyones library, especially anyone considering music outside the tuba world for solos. Ted's sound is clear, clean, and pure German tuba. His phrasing and musicianship are just icing on the cake. The audio quality is excellent. Bravo on a superb LIVE performance! Highly Recommended
