....After touring the country with a jam-jazz outfit called idletime, Ted Hefko returned his attention to the New Orleans scene, sitting-in and studying with traditional jazz masters, and working with a wide variety of Latin and R&B acts. He also revisited modern jazz, working with jazz-guitar legend Warren Battiste, among others.
Hefko formed his own quartet in 2002 for a weekly set at the Blue Nile, which lasted until his departure for New York in July of 2003. During that time the band honed a repertoire of Hefko originals and choice standards, personalizing and internalizing each song, to create a cohesive, yet varied evening of music. Two such nights where captured on tape, and released as, "Ted Hefko Quartet, Live at the Blue Nile."
So now you can take a stroll down Frenchmen Street, the hottest music scene in New Orleans today, and enter into The Blue Nile for an evening of fresh, original Jazz."
