I read the review on this page and I have to agree with everything that was said. This really is something unique and refreshing. There's definitely a Beatles vibe, but there are also elements of Keith Richards, The Smiths, Paul Westerberg, Dylan and XTC.

my best friend's vibe

here's something that really is a statement. it takes chances. i have the first record, one man misery parade. it's great. the individual songs are beautiful. however, this record has a sound, a vibe to it. none of the songs seem closely related to each other, yet they all work together. there's just an underlying feel to the arrangements and production that works so well. once again, the songs are great but it's the vibe that sucked me in. it became my best friend after several listens. "the cynic of sunshine street" is an amazing closer.
