Album Notes

This song was written nearly ten years about my remarkable dog, Missy who was with me for about 15 years. I got her from the Humane Society in Boulder in 1991 and so I never knew her birthday. My friend Nancy Ayrton always joked and asked me every day if it was her birthday. So, we played a game that every day WAS her birthday.
Well, Missy's been gone from me for five years come August 2011, but she lives on in my memory. And, "like a Phoenix rising from the flame, she's the Birthday Girl."
