ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Yes! It's here!
HEALING FREQENCIES...!

Welcome one and all to this space, a space of... well,
healing frequencies!

This is a quirky, inspiring, impressionistic journey through melody and moods. And, as is customary for Ted Shinn music, some very trippy tunes, indeed.

"Deanna's Dance" is named after a wonderful woman named Deanna and it's an upbeat, joyous, unrestricted and catchy groove.

"Healing Frequencies" is a reflective, serene song written for Ted's mother upon her passing. It's peaceful and beautiful. When mixing the song, there was a wonderful waveform upon the oscilloscope as it was mixed--hence the idea for the healing frequency.

"The Voice Inside" Sure to be a favorite. Has that funky beat that Enigma made popular with a dash of Thompson Twins thrown in.

"My House" spins you around both in sound and literally. You'll be transported right on the dance floor!

"Glory" uses oboe to weave an unforgettable melody and melancholy tune. It oddly evokes a sense of the South as well.

"After Yohimbe" is certainly hallucinagenic in nature. Yohimbe is a South American herb used for sexual performance and the side effects are hallucinations. After this dose of musical medicine you'll be ready to go all night, too!

"Twilight Theme" is a haunting beat-laced theme with bassoon, deep brass melodies, and a true sense of longing.

"Clavvy" is a spacey, rave electronica theme with several melodies woven through in typical Ted Shinn fashion. Delicious!

"Forever Free" is considered one of the most melodic songs penned by Ted Shinn, with oboe throughout. It's a very happy-go-lucky song!

"Sundae Moon" is a pensive, euphoria-inducing song. Laced with breathy voices and expressive keyboard phrasing, it's quite a soundscape.

ENJOY THIS MUSIC!

Mad'AM Electra
This is an interesting mix of trance-n-dance and studious instrumentals. Take "Deanna's Dance" for example. A complete dance hit, if you ask me, totally rockin' and infectious. But then you have "Twilight Theme" which is a serious, thematic piece that induces visions.
Isn't that way cool? Then there is "After Yohimbe." Obviously written after imbibing much yohimbe, which is known to cause severe hallucinations. Good stuff, ya'll!
