I’ve heard great things come in small packages and Teefa is the confirmation of this myth. This 5 foot stunner has a personality that can only be described as large as life. Full of joy and the wonders of the world, Teefa’s creativity has no boundaries. Her natural talent is the pathway to an unending and limitless destiny.
At the age of 19 Teefa signed her first major recording contract with partner Shawna of DTP fame. The two Chicago natives soon became known as the members of the Infamous Syndicate (relativity/Sony). Soon young Teefa found herself immediately beginning a tour with the likes of some of the biggest heavy hitters in the game. Eminem, LL Cool J, Busta Ryhmes and many more, began to take notice of Teefa and her Partner, and at the finish of their debut album, featuring the productions of Kanye West and Noid, were all to willing to be among the first to give them their praise. Having learned the lessons of the entertainment business from some of the most influential artists to date during these times, Teefa shined as a member of a group that deservingly was known as one of the hottest female groups in hip hop. Although Teefa shared this reputation with her partner Shawna, her own abilities as a writer and skilled storyteller left its mark on every stage she touched. Nevertheless, the road of life took a turn and the personal growth of both members of Infamous Syndicate began down different paths.
Even though their bonds as friends strengthened and matured, the advancement of their careers and goals began to take their own unique and determined shapes.
In 2001 the road for Teefa embodied not only artist and mc, but she expanded her diverse list of accolades, to include radio personality. As the weekend host of WGCI, the top rated evening program in Chicago, a major US market, Teefa’s audience and fan base has increased by leaps and bounds. The chemistry she has with her guests and listeners including her every increasing street cred as a truly talented MC; have created an awesome platform for Teefa to shine, showcasing the vast universal appeal that she embodies. As evidence of this fact, ratings have continued to flourish under the guided voice of the tremendous power all the while never changing her desire to once again claim her place on the stage she has never been able to put to rest.
There are not many who posses the qualities of a true lady and emcee with such raw talent. Parlaying these gifts into multiple disciplines such as, in movies, journalism and other opportunities, music remains to be Teefa’s one true love. To satisfy this love, Teefa has teamed up with Diverse City to release her debut album G.A.W. (Grown A$$ Woman). As it stands, Teefa and music are as entangled as the necessity of the air we breathe. This powerful stunner and gifted musical has and arsenal of spirit she is all too willing to share with the world. Teefa, the lady, the voice, the artist, the musician, the emcee, is here and is positioned to claim her place in hip hop.
