Album Notes

TEE-M (Tariq Mirza) grew up in Karachi, Pakistan hearing rock/pop on the short-wave radio, listening to street musicians playing the tunes of the land and learning to strum on a hand-me-down guitar.

TEE-M's first album EARTHIOTIC...songsfromaoneroompalace made it's worldwide debut on Mike Stark's (author, Black Sabbath: An Oral History) "Rock 50" internet radio show on wpmd.org
The cd was reviewed and critiqued live by Bernard Baur* (Music Connection Mag) "TEE-M is a very, very solid songwriter...this album is a remarkable achievement" and Mike Stark* "I'm a huge fan...I love this record!".
This was the first time ever that an album by an unsigned artist was reviewed and critiqued live by two nationally known pop writers.
EARTHIOTIC...songsfromaoneroompalace is produced by Geoff Tyson (stimulatorband.com) and Tariq Mirza and released on coolvinylrecords with worldwide distribution through
cdbaby.com

TEE-M can also be heard worldwide co-hosting with the legendary Mike Stark on WPMD "TEE-M's UNsigned Music Show"
(a genre busting show, where the UNsigned revolution is on) which celebrated its anniversary with fourteen artists performing live (also a first in internet radio) and capped off the party with an all-star UNsigned finale of TEE-M's song Aao, Aao, Aao.

TEE-M has toured for Starbucks and is featured in the short film, The Ultimate Song ("a real winner" New York Times) also includes Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Wayne Kramer(MC5)
Tom Morello, Ice T, Steve Earle and others. The film has been shown at Farm Aid and SXSW.

TEE-M lit the Flame of Peace Candle and performed at John Lennon's birthday remembrance in front of Capitol Records
and has been selected Music Connection Magazine's 100 Hottest Unsigned Artists, 5 years in a row.

EARTHIOTIC...is gaining sales and fans in Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, Springfield, MO, London, England, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Culver City, Stockton, CA, and Karachi, Pakistan.
Please have your own EARTHIOTIC...listening parties and laptops ready, CD Baby people are standing by.

* "This is an artist who is taking a courageous step and breaking rules that most people follow".
--Bernard Baur (Music Connection)

* "The thing about New Orleans and Aao,Aao,Aao and some of his other songs is that they are so catchy...They get embedded in your mind. I guess that's what makes a great pop song".
--Mike Stark (Author, Black Sabbath: An Oral History)

REVIEWS

Refreshing
author: Umar Shah
I am listening to tracks listed on this page and there wasnt a single song that didn't have something different and refreshing in it. The music, songwriting and composition are wonderful. Aao Aao is also my son's favorite song and he sang it for days the after the first time he saw the video on tv. 'And I was gone', 'Hallucination' and 'New Orleans' are great songs also. I wish you the best Tee-M.

exceptionally crafted worldly pop music!!

i'm relatively new to the tee-m universe, but i can't stop listening to earthiotic. the writing is solid and catchy as hell, the production is sharp, the musicianship is tasteful and never self indulgent, all the while the roots of tee-m's music and artistry run deep. of special note is the middle-eastern breakdown at the heart of "hallucination". the scope of earthiotic's journey is broad, "time to wake up" could get you running for your car keys first thing in the morning, while "you go on" is the perfect soundtrack for a quiet reflective night at home with a glass of merlot. simply put, this record is a truly beautiful life-affirming journey from start to finish. a must for any fan of quirky beatle-esque pop.
