Album Notes

"What forges the sound of the Teenage Prayers runs deeper than mere genre. It's blood."
Solomon Burke, the King of Rock and Soul

The Teenage Prayers aren't just a band. They're Family.

With a sound that lies somewhere between The Band,
The Kinks, Otis Redding and the cast soundtrack to
"Cabaret", New York City's The Teenage Prayers are both
oddly familiar and totally distinct.

And they're all related by blood or marriage.

Their debut effort, "TEN SONGS", started out as only nine
original tunes, penned by brothers Tim and Terrence Russell
Adams. How the number came to an even ten is a story the
Teenage Prayers will tell forever.

Tim and his cousin, Prayers bassist Kyle Chrise, first met
Solomon Burke while he was out promoting his Grammy-
winning album "Don't GiveUp On Me". That meeting moved
the Prayers to record a live version of Burke's classic
"Goodbye Baby" and send the soul legend a copy of the tune.

He loved it and responded by flying the band to LA and
producing the song for inclusion on "TEN SONGS".
