Tatiana Feigin, violinist, and Eugene Feigin, pianist, are the founding members of The Feigin Duo and The Rachmaninoff Piano Trio. This brother-and-sister team has been performing together for many years, playing an impressive violin piano repertoire of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods and works by contemporary composers. They performed extensively in their native Russia as members of the Moscow Philharmonia Society before immigrating to the U.S.A. where they continued their career with performances not only in the United States, but also in Germany, Holland and Italy to great critical acclaim.
"Their sound was extroverted and full-bodied. Their interpretation grabs the listeners in an effusive musical bear hug."
--The New York Times
"The violinist Tatiana Feigin stood out clearly with her pure and refined tone."
--De-Cooi-en Eemlander (Holland)
"Miss Feigin plays with cultivated taste and phrasing, both eloquent and expressive."
-- France-Amerique
"A tremendously gifted musician."
--Het Binenhof (Holland), about Eugene Feigin
"The result was a secure, always thrilling walk between motivic density and exuberant emphasis."
--German Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
"Their playing is articulate and technically excellent."
--Fanfare
ABOUT THE CD
Our intent was to record music that is uplifting using mostly short pieces with different characters and styles that move us. Beethoven’s “Spring” sonata is one of our favorites.
The compilation of short pieces, or so-called “miniatures,” is a very popular genre in classical music which can be compared to short stories in literature. These miniatures always seem to delight our audiences at live performances, and it is our desire to evoke the same reaction with our recordings.
