***************

Available solely on iTunes and other digital-download sites, SURF GUITAR SHUTDOWN! contains a lifetime's worth of recordings by the legendary surf band, the Tele Twangers. Until that fateful day the Twangers fell asleep on their surfboards and were devoured by school of ferocious hammerhead sharks (who mistook the musicians for a family of dozing seals), their rockin' tunes were an important part of the California surf-rock movement.

Today, all that remains of the Tele Twangers--aside from some chewed pieces of surfboard and the odd scuba flipper--is this collection of songs. Recorded in a dilapidated California beach bungalow, these jumpin' tracks range cover the gamut from psycho-surf ("Mexicali") to cocktail jazz ("A Night in Rio") to pure country ("Angel of Mercy") to twang-o-licious heavy rock ("Shark Attack!").

From Laguna Beach to Surf City, the Tele Twangers were the soundtrack for many a beach-blanket-bingo party. Though the band may be gone, their music has touched the lives and hearts of at least three or four people.

So download some tracks from SURF GUITAR SHUTDOWN!, grab your board and head out for big waves. Just watch out for the sharks!
