Album Notes

Open your ears and clear your mind. With Teliof there can be no presumptions, they are beyond definition. In a music world over-crowded with repetitive booming beats, looped samples and questionable re-mixes, Teliof brings together a refreshing blend of genres for a diverse audience.

What started as a search for a vacant .com domain ended up as a group of multiple composers who wish to do about any type of music they can come up with, using the Google-unique name: Teliof. The band was formed in Tel Aviv in 2006 when Yuval, a software engineer was looking for a drummer wild enough to experiment with some unusual musical ideas. Lior's cousin who worked with Yuval in the same office arranged a meeting and surprisingly, their musical preferences (and the profession) matched. Avsha, an active guitarist in several groups at that time was introduced by a mutual friend soon joined as a bass player. The three immediately set out on the task of recording the debut album and simultaneously, worked on special musical arrangements for live shows. To complete the line up, Kristine Sykes Arinos, then Lior's Girlfriend and now his wife, joined on Vocals and Flute, Roei Remez Joined the band later on as Keyboard player.

Many musicians and vocalists contributed their talents during the recording of the album, including some major local prog-rock artists such as Shir Deustch (Soltice Coil) contributing vocals and lyrics for the track "Die For Us" and Gil Idan (Eggroll) who played some extra drum parts for the album.

Teliof's effort to push musical boundaries and explore various moods and themes is consist.
The album's center piece, a 7 part (and 24 minute long) epic titled "It Is" goes from angelic choir arrangements to Latin classical guitar, massive rock parts and 70's keyboards, all guiding you through a colorful journey. The band's first single "They Believe we exist" is classic prog- piece mixing it up with some more Beach boys melodies and early Queen guitar parts.
