Album Notes

Are You A Girl or A Boy? Well, if every picture tells a story, this once is a doosey.

Temptress looks like a model and sings like a sailor and the band is tighter than her butt.

TEMPTRESS plays an outrageous rock n roll crying game that has fans across the country screaming for more. It's part Rocky Horror Show, part La Cage Au Faux, and it's total Rock and Roll. And if you're lucky, you may just see ShElvis, the Transvelvis.

In addition to vocalist/guitarist "Temptress", the band features lead guitarist "Babyface Bucci", bassist "In the Can Louie", and drummer "Mustachio". TEMPTRESS has come a long way since their Halloween debut in a Boston nightclub. They hold the World's Record for playing before the most people in a single day, resulting from a series of live shows in front of over 2.5 Million New Yorkers on Halloween, 1997.

They literally stopped traffic on the streets between appearances on Howard Stern, Regis and Kathy Lee, and their triumphant performance at the Greenwich Village Halloween parade. These blush brushers recently played a national sporting goods convention in Atlanta, hosted by Nike and Pepsi. They also inked a deal for a nationally distributed six-part comic book series, and their merchandising line of ultra-trashy lingerie is selling at every TEMPTRESS concert.

The only drag: getting used to wearing their girlfriend's pantyhose. "We need it for genital management" says Temptress with a smile.

Lead singer "Temptress" understands well the secrets of the bands success. "Before we were just musicians. Now we're in show business. Temptress brings rock back to its roots--driving, powerful music with a show that kicks ass--literally, says Temptress.

Temptress has been seen on virtually every talk show there is, from Sally to Jenny Jones. And remarkably, she's one of the few guests that Jerry Springer didn't sleep with.

A visual extravaganza with great music that guarantees a good time for all.

'Bondage turns me on, leather holds so strong, romance is not my cup of tea, hang around with a kinky guy like me,. . i'll crack my whip and you'll submit'. Cross dressing, hard rocking, and banging the sound waves with aggressive rhthms and distorted guitars, comes trashy poppy, Temptress. This five piece all male band dons an image far more feminine than most of the all-female bands of the day - with songs like "(I want to ) Be a Girl", "Are you a Boy?", "Dress Up", "Queen for a Day", and . . "ShElvis the TransvElvis" (answering the daunting question of what happened to the King) their message is perfectly clear - these guys rock the panty hose off the shelves and right onto their hairy muscular legs. Musicianship and production are first rate - songs are quirky and envelope pushing fun - the style is speed rock/punk/pop with a danceable dessert for the last tracks. Writing is pure pop candy pleasure in opening track "Pills", the chorus is Archies meet Kiss, confusing everyone, while chronicling our hospital bed bound hero's submission to his pill providing nurse, '..doctor why can't you see, i don't understand what she's doing to me, she gives me the shots, she gives me the pills, she gives me this junk against my will', mp3'd here. Track 10, "Working Girl", is another great example of Temptress' pure pop prostitute pleasures with a hook, like most of the other songs, that you can not get the chorus out of your head whether you like it or not (and most will be secretly glad). The final track, "Higher On Fire", is a house mix that opens with a full minute of a teenage boy's phone sex session being interupted by his mother's callings - wonderfully demented. .Okay, the entire CD is worth the price of admission for "ShElvis the TansvElvis" - take Hunka Hunka Burning love and give it a transvestite twist - complete with origin line revealing that Elvis didn't die he had a sex change. . . this is the party CD of the week? year? millenium? unabashed and presented in the spirit of what makes rock so everlasting - great music, pure pop sense, and a dedication to humor and gender bending fun that is unsurpassed.
